MATHEMATICS -BLOG ON SCALE RATIO

 DEFINE IT !

Based on what is the definition of scale ratio.

The scale ratio based on a model, indicates the equivalent ratio regarding a straight element referring to the model for the identical characteristics in relation to the indigenous. For instance a model of a car and the objectives for the car.

THINK ON IT !

Explanation on why scale drawings or models are important.

Scale drawings are very helpful techniques for any creator, so they can use it in order to plan, visualize and adjust landscape plans before breaking grounds or before constructing real objects in the real world. Scale drawings designate the individual object the exact scale compared to the actual objects of everyday life. They are used to create maps and other scale diagrams. When things are too big to draw on paper, scale factors are used to calculate smaller proportional measurements. Scale models acknowledge creators to put together alternates placed at an indeed decreased price.. An example is calculating the proper amounts of ingredients in recipes for cooking. If you want an accurate drawing of a real life object you must use a scale. The scale tells us how many times larger or smaller the real object is. A scale drawing is simply a drawing which has been reduced or enlarged from its original size to a specified scale.

Here are four fields in which scale drawings or models are used and how they are important in these fields.

Architects- It is important that architects use scale drawings or models so that they have accurate measurement when creating the real world size of it.

Builders- It is also important for builders to use scale drawings or models for them to be able to build buildings or bridges so that it has the same shape as the building but in a different size.

Carpenters- Whereas for carpenters it is important that it is used to demonstrate objects that are not helpful or suitable to draw at their real size.

Plumbers- In addition it is important for plumbers too, to use scale drawings which allows them to know specifically how each component would align and how much space they'll have, including empty and filled.

EXPLORE IT !

These are three scale drawings or models.

CREATE IT !

I decided on this scale ratio by thinking of an object that is used in everyday life. Which is an airplane.

Scale Ratio-

Model- Length: 10 centimeters

            Width: 2 centimeters

             Height: 6 centimeters

Actual Airplane- Length: 40 meters

                           Width: 6 meters

                            Height: 18 meters

Airplane scale ratio working

Length- 40 ÷ 10 = 4 meters

Width-  6 ÷ 2 = 3 meters

Height- 18 ÷ 6 = 3 meters

Length- 1 centimeter on the model is 4 meters on the real airplane.

Width- 1 centimeter on the model is 3 meters on the real airplane.

Height- 1 centimeter on the model is 3 meters on the real airplane.

Airplane Scale Ratio

Length- 1:4

Width- 1:3

Height- 1:3
